Show & Tell Friday: A Garden Pest

Well, here it is again Friday and time for another "Show & Tell" hosted by our lovely Cindy over at My Romantic Home.
Show and Tell Friday is all about things around our homes and gardens and this creature is certainly around in my garden.
He and his buddies have managed to destroy several of our tomato plants.....hubby won't use any chemicals on the tomatoes because, of course, we eat the tomatoes and he is into gardening organically if possible. These worms don't know anything about organic gardening so they flourish undisturbed.
Hubby's best defense is picking them off with his hands.........ugh!!!!
He showed me this guy and suggested I take photos as it would be an interesting post for my blog....I'll let you be the judge on that one.
Now you can hop on over to My Romantic Home to see the other wonderful participants....that is AFTER you leave a comment! (Please)
Have an enjoyable weekend.

This is his head.....at first it was difficult to decide which was the head and which was the end.
You can also see his eye in this photo.

Aren't the colors and the pattern on this worm fabulously interesting?

You have no idea how much I hate those tomato worms! They freak me out when I see them! Luckily I haven't seen one on my tomato plants for a long time!!!

They are a pretty color of green but that about the only nice thing I can say about them...haha!

Great photos!!! Too bad something so interesting looking can cause such damage.

Great photos of the worm, but UCK! I'm glad your hubby is the one doing the picking off. My husband wants to go the whole *natural* route too when it comes to our vegetables, but I hate those worms so much that I secretly spray the plants. Shhhhhhh.

I hate that he is a pest, but you have to admit he is so pretty. You captured a side of him I've never seen before. When I see them on my plants they look so ugly. I don't use any chemicals on my vegetable garden either.

I soooooooooooooo hate these tomato worms. My father had a huge acreage with tons of tomato plants...and when I'd spot one of these 'boogers' I'd run...he too would just have me show 'em where they were and then pick it off by hand....EWWWWW!!!

Mine today is just a sketch I drew. [along with a little worksheet share for a simple craft project....AND links to my photos of the trip to the zoo!!! LOL ---a busy post.]

Have a glorious Friday, and super weekend.!!

I don't think I've ever seen anything like this little guy before. Perhaps in 'Alice in Wonderland'?!?

Sorry he's picking on your tomatoes!

Enjoy your weekend,
Zuzu

We had a ton of these guys this summer. I thought they were really neat to look at too. But, yep they can certainly do some damage!

How much longer is your growing season?

Hey Girlfriend...

Oooh...I don't know whether to scream eeekkks! or sound off praise! hehe! I know that these little guys are a menace but aren't they beautiful? I love the beautiful shade of green that they are...probably from eating all of your glorious green tomato plants! The pattern on these caterpillars is really magnificent! Ohhh...I do love tomatoes so I guess these guys would have to go!!! But unlike your hubby...I'd have to find some other way to get them off of the plant! Hehe!

Have a fabulous Friday, Sweetie!

Ohhhh Lenore!! those tomato bugs are one of my biggest nightmares!!! I can't even see the beauty of the color or pattern or anything because they scare me soooo much!!
I've been lucky that they haven't found my plants for the last two years. Your hubby is brave, lol.
